A team of three Miami athletic training students won the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association (OATA) Student Symposium Quiz Bowl on Saturday, January 20. The team consisting of seniors Alex Mueller, Audrey Van Auken, and Abby Weiland became the first Miami University team to win the Quiz Bowl since 2007. The OATA Quiz Bowl was hosted by Ohio State and is a Jeopardy-style competition where fourteen Ohio athletic training programs compete against each other. As the Ohio winner, the team will go on to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association (GLATA) Quiz Bowl in mid-March to compete against other GLATA athletic training programs (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota). If they win GLATA, they go on to compete in the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Quiz Bowl in June.

Miami University Regionals recognize 17 students for their exemplary service to the community. Students achieve Service Honor Roll by successful completion of service hours to a local non-profit organization during an academic semester. Service Honor Roll recipients fall into the following categories: Bronze: 25 - 49 hours of community service, Silver: 50 - 74 hours of community service, Gold: 75-99 hours of community service and Platinum: 100+ hours of community service.

Miami graduate students from Project Dragonfly have been invited to present as featured speakers at the 14th Annual World Community Conference at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Dec. 16, 2017. Sponsored by the zoo and Miami University's Project Dragonfly, the conference showcases the work of students who have conducted inquiry projects in communities across the U.S. and at key conservation sites around the world.

Having applied the tools of science, education and conservation to become leaders in conversation communities, graduate students in the Global Field Program (GFP) and Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) from Miami Unviersity's Project Dragonfly finish their master's studies.
