Taylor Thornburg (Kinesiology, Pre-Med) and Lindsay Stein (Kinesiology, Nutrition Minor) were among ten Miami University Undergraduates to receive the Provost's Student Academic Achievement Award for their exellence in the classroom and for their research efforts with Dr. Helaine Alession and Dr. Dean Smith.

Miami University students were recognized on April 13, 2024, for their 2023 work in journalism, winning a record number of 26 awards at the Society of Professional Journalism regional competition.

Miami University Film Studies students turn their quarantine experiences into a documentary. On March 10, students were informed that all spring classes would be taught remotely in response to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the United States. Each collaborator began working on personal portraits of either family members or themselves that demonstrated what family life in quarantine is like. These sequences were later combined to create the final 42-minute film.

As a Miami University senior and athletic training major, Barbetta helped administer therapeutic techniques to prevent and treat injuries and optimize performance. Miami University Regionals names students to the dean's list who earned a high academic standing and were enrolled in less than 12 graded credit hours during the 2020 spring semester.

Miami University Regionals recently honored students for outstanding academic achievement in and outside the classroom during the Virtual Regionals Awards Ceremony.

Twenty-four Mid-American Conference (MAC) student-athletes were named as Medal of Excellence Award winners for the 2019-20 academic season, with Miami University's Margaret Payne honored. The Medal of Excellence is an award presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating class of each of the 12 Conference member institutions.

Ten of Miami University's Fulbright semifinalists have been offered 2020-2021 grants.These are the most offers Miami has ever received in a single year. Fulbright, the largest U.S. exchange program, provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English teaching assistant programs outside of the United States. Since 2000, 59 Miami students and alumni - not including these latest offers - have received Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants to conduct research or teach overseas, according to Karla Guinigundo, director of global partnerships in Miami's Office of Global Initiatives. "The growth in Fulbright success at Miami is a testament to the value placed on cultural exchange by both the students who apply and the many faculty and staff who support the applicants each year," Guinigundo said. "It is exciting to see so many of our students making a global impact through this program."

Each year, Miami University honors senior students whose service to Miami and our surrounding community embodies Love + Honor with the President's Distinguished Service Award. For most recipients, the spring 2020 semester is the conclusion of their college experience. While the semester has been unexpected in many ways, we applaud and celebrate the successes and accomplishments of these exceptional students. The 2020 President's Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding students who graduated in December 2019 or January 2020, or are set to graduate in May or August 2020

The USS program enables Miami undergraduates to conduct research or other creative scholarly activities in close collaboration with a faculty mentor during the summer term. With its primary goals on student-centered learning through mentored research, the program aligns with Miami's focus on offering "active, engaged educational experiences for our undergraduates.
