Miami University Student earns NFL Internship
Joey Barbetta earns NFL Internship with the Detroit Lions. As a Miami University senior and athletic training major, Barbetta helped administer therapeutic techniques to prevent and treat injuries and optimize performance. He also prepped the field before practices and helped ensure that all COVID-19 guidelines were followed.

Graduate students from Miami University's Project Dragonfly engage with conservation leaders to make a difference
Graduate students from Miami University's Project Dragonfly engage with conservationists from around the world in action projects on vital human and ecological issues through a new online course titled "Earth Expeditions: Connected Conservation (EECC)." Miami's Dragonfly team developed the course in response to the global health crisis and as an alternative to Dragonfly's summer Earth Expeditions travel field courses.

Miami University has admitted a new cohort of students to its Master of Arts in biology and Master of Arts in Teaching in the biological sciences degrees. Miami University Regionals Students Win Honors In Perk-Up Middletown Art Project
Artwork created by students from Miami University Regionals has been selected to be displayed on electrical boxes throughout Middletown as part of the Perk-Up Middletown project. The public art project, which is sponsored by the City of Middletown, the Rotary Club of Middletown, the Middletown Arts Center and Miami University Regionals Middletown Campus, is intended to create pride in the visual aesthetics of the downtown area while showing that Middletown is a vibrant and exciting destination for visitors and residents alike.

Miami University RedHawk Landon Stephens Signs With Atlanta Braves
Senior Miami University baseball utility player Landon Stephens signed a free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves on Sunday and will begin his professional career. Stephens has been one of the RedHawks' most prolific hitters the past four seasons as he finishes his collegiate career with a .301 batting average. He ranks third all-time in Miami history with 53 career doubles, tied for 10th with 11 triples and tied for 10th with 136 RBIs. His best season came in 2019, when he was named First-Team All-Mid-American Conference after hitting .310 with nine home runs and a team-leading 46 RBIs.

Miami University Student Awarded Prestigious Astronaut Scholarship
Miami University student, Alexandra "Lexie" Adams, has been awarded a scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF). She is one of 56 students from 41 universities to receive the award for the 2020-2021 academic year. The Astronaut Scholarship is among the most significant merit-based monetary scholarships awarded to undergraduate STEM juniors and seniors who intend to pursue research or advance their field upon completion of their final degree. Astronaut Scholars are among the best and brightest minds in STEM who show initiative, creativity and excellence in their chosen field, according to the ASF.

Miami University Bateman Team receives National Honor in Case Study Competition
The Miami University Bateman team has received an Honorable Mention in the Public Relations Student Society of America's (PRSSA) national case study competition. The 5-member team consisted of strategic communication majors LeeAnn Burczynski, Marisa Sulek, Graham Leu, Sarah Myers, and Ava Dasari, who all worked for most of this school year to research, plan, implement, and evaluate a strategic public relations plan to submit to the competition. Visiting instructor in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film Shara Clark, APR was the team's adviser.

Miami University Students Make Accessible Masks For Disability Studies Action Project
In Miami University's Introduction to Disability Studies (DST 272) course, students are required to develop an action project to improve accessibility, and some students were able to help in a way they couldn't have imagined. The students are making and donating accessible masks to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
