A Miami University senior in the Department Social and Behavioral Sciences has been named a Charles J. Ping Student Service Award Winner for 2023 by Campus Compact Ohio. This award was created to recognize and honor undergraduate students for their outstanding leadership and contributions to community service and/or service-learning on their campus and within their community. Thirteen students from across the state of Ohio are receiving this honor with two students being recipients of the Legacy Award and $250 being donated to a non-profit organization of their choice. Each outstanding student nominated for this recognition embodies the mission of Ohio Campus Compact by contributing to the civic and community engagement of students on their campuses and active involvement in the community.

Miami University has admitted a new cohort of students to its Master of Arts in biology and Master of Arts in Teaching in the biological sciences degrees. Miami University Student Venture Capital Team Makes it a Fourpeat at Global Finals
Miami University's student venture capital investment team won the U.S. Northeast Regional competition of the 2022 Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC), qualifying them for the global finals at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The team competed against eight other finalists from around the world and placed in the top three.

After a career-ending injury derailed her plans to play college soccer, Miami student Grace Chaney used the experience as an opportunity to find her true passions in biomechanics, orthopedics, and medicine. As a kinesiology and premed double major, Grace has served as an undergraduate fellow at the Mayo Clinic, and her award-winning research has already helped busy people find new ways to squeeze in effective workouts. On the Major Inside podcast, she also talks about working towards medical school, some innovative new health care technology, overcoming the dangers of burnout, and more.

Miami University Regionals Students Win Honors In Perk-Up Middletown Art Project
Artwork created by students from Miami University Regionals has been selected to be displayed on electrical boxes throughout Middletown as part of the Perk-Up Middletown project. The public art project, which is sponsored by the City of Middletown, the Rotary Club of Middletown, the Middletown Arts Center and Miami University Regionals Middletown Campus, is intended to create pride in the visual aesthetics of the downtown area while showing that Middletown is a vibrant and exciting destination for visitors and residents alike.

Graduate students from Miami University's Project Dragonfly engage with conservationists from around the world in action projects on vital human and ecological issues through a new online course titled "Earth Expeditions: Connected Conservation (EECC)." Miami's Dragonfly team developed the course in response to the global health crisis and as an alternative to Dragonfly's summer Earth Expeditions travel field courses.
