Victoria Brodzenski receives master's degree from Miami University through Project Dragonfly and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

On Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, Alliance, Ohio resident Victoria Brodzenski will graduate with a Master of Arts in Teaching in the Biological Sciences from Miami University through Project Dragonfly and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP).

Since joining the AIP master's in 2012, Brodzenski has explored conservation and education in Mongolia, while also conducting projects that have made a difference in the Alliance area. Brodzenski works as a physical science and geology teacher at Mahoning County High School, Mahoning Unlimited Classroom, and Walsh University.

The AIP, a groundbreaking graduate degree focused on inquiry-driven learning and social change, combines coursework at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and seven other U.S. partner institutions with collaborative work in Dragonfly's web-based learning communities.

Project Dragonfly reaches millions of people each year through inquiry-driven learning media, public exhibits and graduate programs worldwide. Since 2004 Dragonfly's Earth Expeditions program has engaged more than 1,700 people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas. Dragonfly is based in the Department of Biology at Miami University, a state university in Oxford, Ohio. Miami was established in 1809 and is listed as one of the eight original Public Ivies.
