Thomas Ringenbach Honored for Professional Achievements

2016 Nov 16

The Miami University Alumni Association (MUAA) recently named Thomas Ringenbach of Dublin to its 2016 "18 Of the Last 9" class, which highlights 18 young alumni from Miami University's past nine graduating classes.

The annual program is based on the popular "30 under 30" model, and recognizes 18 Miami alumni who have graduated in the past nine years. This year's inductees were selected from more than 100 nominees, with accomplishments in fields ranging from medicine and geography to business innovation and foreign affairs.

Ringenbach, a 2008 Miami graduate with bachelor's degrees in management information systems and computer science, is the senior software development manager for the Kroger Company. Ringenbach handles multiple projects for Kroger's digital technology team as he leads more than 50 software developers. His team manages web development efforts for customer-facing websites, such as www.kroger.com. Ringenbach is also implementing a successful online shopping experience, ClickList, where Kroger customers can order online and pick up in store. Ringenbach earned a master's degree from Xavier University, which allowed him to return and teach at Miami for three semesters.

"It's a pleasure to honor these exceptional young alumni and the contributions they are making in the world," said Ray Mock, executive director of the Miami University Alumni Association. "We are excited and eager to see them return to campus and for them to have the opportunity to inspire future generations of Miami graduates."

Nationally recognized as one of the most outstanding undergraduate institutions, Miami University is a public university in Oxford, Ohio, with a student body of 16,000. Miami effectively combines a wide range of strong academic programs with the personal attention ordinarily found only at much smaller institutions.

The Miami University Alumni Association honors Miami's heritage and fosters lifelong connections with the university's more than 200,000 alumni.

A special reception formally recognizing Ringenbach was held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 on Miami's Oxford campus.
