Rockwall, Texas resident Kelsey Stone to study in Belize

2014 May 23

Rockwall, Texas (75087) resident Kelsey Stone, a new master's student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, will travel to Belize in July to study approaches to environmental stewardship.

More information about Stone's 2014 course is located at http://www.earthexpeditions.org/belize. (If link is inactive, please copy and paste the url into a browser window or visit http://www.earthexpeditions.org and click on Belize.)

Project Dragonfly's GFP is a Miami University master's degree program that combines field work at conservation and education hotspots globally with collaborative work in web-based learning communities. Because the degree occurs in the field and on the web, GFP students are able to live throughout the country and internationally while earning the Miami University degree.

Since the program began 10 years ago, Project Dragonfly's Earth Expeditions graduate courses - on which the GFP is based - have engaged more than 1,500 people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas. Dragonfly is based in the biology department at Miami University, a state university in Oxford, Ohio. Miami was established in 1809 and is listed as one of the eight original Public Ivies.
