Olivia Rusek Earns Academic Award with Miami University RedHawks

Miami University RedHawk Olivia Rusek has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association academic team. Miami was one of only 131 NCAA Division I teams to earn the award.

Rusek is earning a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health majoring in Sport Leadership & Management.

The RedHawks had a team GPA of 3.34 for the 2015-16 school year, to qualify.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2016 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.21, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 40 percent (189 of 490) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 38 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
