Nora Husani Wins Miami University's President's Distinguished Service Award

Miami University student Nora Husani was one of 17 seniors to win this year's President's Distinguished Service Award.

The awards are presented each year to graduating seniors for their contributions to campus, the greater community and to higher education.

Husani has been a member of the scholar leader program and a cohort member of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute in the College of Engineering and Computing. In the fall of 2013, she founded Kode2Learn, an organization that educates elementary and middle school students in computer coding. She recruited many Miami students to implement and participate in coding clubs in Oxford’s elementary schools and middle school. Husani was nominated by Norm Krumpe.

The winners are also awarded the Senior Service Leadership Award and wear a special medallion at commencement.

Husani, from Solon, is earning a Bachelor of Science majoring in Software Engineering and Psychology .
