Michelle Harris fosters community change through collaborative leadership endeavor

Columbus, Ohio (43221) resident Michelle Harris, a graduate student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, was awarded a Leadership badge from the university for stepping outside her comfort zone and demonstrating collaborative leadership skills that have helped bring about positive change in her community.

Through her Leadership in Science Inquiry course project entitled "A Virtual Bug Festival," Harris planned, organized and implemented a Virtual Bug Festival. Harris is the founder of, and educator for, Green Matter.

The GFP master's degree is designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings who are interested in inquiry-driven education, environmental stewardship and global understanding.
