Miami University Student Caitlin Finelli Receives Undergraduate Research Award

Caitlin Finelli, a microbiology major from Solon, OH (44139), is the recipient of a Spring 2012 Undergraduate Research Award from Miami University.

The award provides support for student research and creative projects. Finelli worked with fellow student Sarah Lynch, with Xiao-Wen *Cheng, professor of microbiology* on the project Development of a Fifth Generation Baculovirus Expression Vector System for Future Vaccine Production.

The Undergraduate Research Award (URA) program is sponsored by Miami's office for the advancement of research and scholarship. It provides support for student research and creative projects, and provides experience in developing grant applications. Typical awards range from $150 to $500, but individual or group projects of exceptional merit may be funded up to $1,000.
