Miami University Student-Athlete Paula Portugal Named MAC Player of the Week

Miami University student-athlete Paula Portugal was named the MAC Offensice Player of the Week. Portugal is a member of the Miami University RedHawks women's field hockey team.

Portugal is earning a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics. This is the third time this season she has won the award.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2016 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.21, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 40 percent (189 of 490) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 38 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
