Miami University RedHawk Michael Weathers Earns MAC Freshman of the Year Honors

Miami University student-athlete Michael Weathers was named the Mid American Conference (MAC) men's basketball Freshman of the Year.

Weathers, from Roeland Park, is earning a B.S. in Education majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2016 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.21, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 40 percent (189 of 490) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 38 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
