Miami University RedHawk Amelia Strickler Qualifies for NCAA Preliminary

Miami University RedHawk Amelia Strickler is one of nine student-athletes to qualify for the NCAA Preliminary.

A three-day meet, this year's NCAA East Region Preliminary is held in Lexington at the University of Kentucky. Strickler is in the shot put competition.

Strickler is earning a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Microbiology.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2017 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.31, the second highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 67 percent of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 40 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
