Megan Stoy is one of eight students to receive a Bob and Barbara Williams Scholarship from Miami University

Megan Stoy of Montgomery (45242) is one of eight students to receive the 2014 Bob and Barbara Williams Leadership Scholarship through The Paper Science and Engineering Foundation at Miami University. Stoy is majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in paper science.

This prestigious award is presented to students in the paper science and engineering curriculum in recognition of their leadership, creativity, and academic achievements. Recipients were selected by a committee of engineering faculty and Paper Science and Engineering Foundation staff. Winners received a $13,000 full tuition scholarship thanks to the generosity of The Bob and Barbara Williams Foundation.

Megan, daughter of Carolyn and Frank Stoy, is a junior majoring in Chemical Engineering with a Paper Science Minor. This past summer Megan interned as a containerboard process engineer with Georgia-Pacific Corp. in Big Island, Virginia. One of her projects involved analyzing the digester chemical usage. She will return there next summer for a second internship with them. Megan is also a member of Student TAPPI (Technical Association of Pulp & Paper Industries). She will graduate in May 2016.
