Megan Fox fosters community change through collaborative leadership endeavor

Cincinnati, Ohio (45251) resident Megan Fox, a graduate student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, was awarded a Leadership badge from the university for demonstrating collaborative leadership skills that have helped bring about positive change in her community.

Through her Leadership in Science Inquiry course project entitled "Native Species: Connecting the Wild to Home," Fox made a case for protecting native species in Ohio and provided information on creating butterfly gardens to benefit Monarch butterflies and similar species. Fox is a zoo educator and naturalist at Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.

The GFP master's degree is designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings who are interested in inquiry-driven education, environmental stewardship and global understanding.
