Megan Beaver Wins Miami University's President's Distinguished Service Award

Miami University student Megan Beaver was one of 17 seniors to win this year's President's Distinguished Service Award.
The awards are presented each year to graduating seniors for their contributions to campus, the greater community and to higher education.
Beaver has been a leader on campus for student health and wellness, serving as a HAWK peer health educator for three years and serving as co-president alongside award winner Kathie Wollney. She expanded the StepUP! Bystander Intervention program and served as a chair of the Miami values committee. She also competed in the MAC championships multiple times as a middle distance runner. Beaver was nominated by Mike Curme and Leslie Haxby McNeill.
The winners are also awarded the Senior Service Leadership Award and wear a special medallion at commencement.
Beaver, from Brecksville, is earning a Bachelor of Science majoring in Health Promotion.
