Local Miami RedHawk Cam Solomon Qualifies for U.S. Amateur

Miami University RedHawk Cam Solomon has qualified for the upcoming United State Amateur tournament. Solomon finished third at the Ohio State Scarlet Course qualifier to earn his spot.

The US Amateur features 312 of the best amateur golfers in the world and will take place August 14-20 at the Riviera Country Club and the Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles, California.

Solomon, of Dublin, is earning a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in University Studies.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2017 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.31, the second highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 67 percent of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 40 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
