Julia Hursh fosters community change through collaborative leadership endeavor

San Diego, Calif. (92107) resident Julia Hursh, a graduate student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, was awarded a Leadership badge from the university for demonstrating collaborative leadership skills that have helped bring about positive change in her community.

Through her Leadership in Science Inquiry course project entitled "Zoo Express," Hursh created resources to distribute with the San Diego Zoo's therapeutic and educational Zoo Express Program. Hursh is a senior animal trainer at San Diego Zoo.

The GFP master's degree is designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings who are interested in inquiry-driven education, environmental stewardship and global understanding.
