Joshua Melnick Earns Leadership Role on Miami University's Hockey Team

Joshua Melnick has earned a leadership role on the Miami University hockey team for the 2016-2017 season.

He joins team captain Louie Belpedio on a "quality leadership nucleus" of The Brotherhood.

Melnick is earning a Bachelor of Art majoring in University Studies.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2016 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.21, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 40 percent (189 of 490) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 38 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
