Jongdee To-im from Miami University's Project Dragonfly publishes original work

Thailand, resident Jongdee To-im from Miami University's Project Dragonfly has published an original work entitled "A Firefly Learning Module for Environmental Sustainable Development in Samutsongkhram Province, Thailand." In her recent article, To-im studied the development of learning modules in a secondary school based on both the principle of inquiry and the collaboration of community leaders. The article appeared in International Electronic Journal of Environmental Education, which publishes original work about global environmental and science education.

In her experience with the master's program, To-im has traveled to Thailand, Mongolia and Costa Rica and has taught courses in Thailand. To-im is currently a lecturer at the Mahidol University in Thailand.

The Global Field Program master's degree and Earth Expeditions courses are designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings interested in making a difference in human and ecological communities. More than 1,400 people from all 50 states and abroad have participated in these graduate learning opportunities from Miami's Project Dragonfly and conservation partners worldwide. Course sites for 2014 include the Amazon, Australia, Baja, Belize, Borneo, Costa Rica, Guyana, Hawai'i, India (new), Kenya, Mongolia, Namibia and Thailand.
