Jennifer Rydzewski from Miami University's Project Dragonfly publishes original work

Dolton, Ill., resident Jennifer Rydzewski from Miami University's Project Dragonfly has published an original article titled "lxodes scapularis (Acari: Ixodidae) distribution surveys in the Chicago metropolitan region" in Journal of Medical Entomology, a publication that focuses on all aspects of medical entomology and medical acarology.

In the article Rydzewski examines findings from a random sampling of tick habitats across the Chicago metropolitan area

Rydzewski, a naturalist at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, is a graduate of Miami University through Project Dragonfly's Global Field Program. As a student in the GFP, Rydzewski traveled to Baja, Borneo and Kenya, while also conducting projects that have made a difference in the Dolton area.

The GFP master's degree and Earth Expeditions courses are designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings interested in making a difference in human and ecological communities. Applicants can be from anywhere in the United States or abroad.
