Jared Brandt named NCHC Rookie of the Week

Miami University first-year RedHawk Jared Brandt was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Rookie of the Week for the third week of February.

After netting two goals and an assist in last weekend's series at Minnesota Duluth, Brandt won his first career NCHC weekly award.

Brandt, from Kansas City, is earning his B.S. in Kinesiology & Health majoring in Sport Leadership & Management.

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2016 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.21, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 40 percent (189 of 490) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 38 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
