Jared Brandt Commits to Miami Brotherhood

Local student Jared Brandt has committed to the Miami University Brotherhood.

Brandt is from St. Peters.

The RedHawks men's ice hockey team subscribes to the mantra, "Respect Everyone, Fear Nothing," and it's members are known as the Brotherhood.

About Brandt:

Spent the past three seasons on the Minot Minotauros’ blue line, serving as the team’s captain during the 2015-16 season … enjoying a career season with the Minotauros, posting 26 points (5g, 21a) while notching a career-best +18 rating in 57 games … holds a +7 rating overall in 147 NAHL games (+21 his last two seasons) … helped guide the Minotauros to a 34-18-6 record during the 2015-16 season.

Miami hockey coach Enrico Blasi has this to say about Brandt:

"Jared is a reliable, mobile puck-moving defenseman. He is solid defensively and has steadily improved throughout his 3 years in Minot. He will fit in well with our culture and style of play."

Miami University student-athletes finished the spring 2015 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.313, the highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, 70 percent (339 of 482) of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 26 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.

Of the 2014 senior class, 100% of Miami's student-athletes were employed within one year of graduation.
