Debi Ellenburg Wins Miami University's President's Distinguished Service Award

2016 Apr 19

Miami University student Debi Ellenburg was one of 17 seniors to win this year's President's Distinguished Service Award.

The awards are presented each year to graduating seniors for their contributions to campus, the greater community and to higher education.

Ellenburg worked with different departments and administrative centers on campus. Her job as a medical assistant inspired her to make positive changes in the health care field. She also worked as an orientation leader and coordinator, treasurer of the Miami Middletown Student Government, and student specialist for the office of public affairs and marketing. She now has a full-time internship but still volunteers with orientation programs. Ellenburg was nominated by Carrie Chambers.

The winners are also awarded the Senior Service Leadership Award and wear a special medallion at commencement.

Ellenburg, from Middletown, is earning a Bach of Integrative Studies majoring in Integrative Studies.
