Danae Shipp from Miami University's Project Dragonfly publishes original work

Cary, N.C., resident Danae Shipp from Miami University's Project Dragonfly has published an original article titled "Observation-Focused Nature Journaling" in Green Teacher, a quarterly magazine of kid-tested ideas aimed at fostering learning and inspiring action on environmental and other global issues.

In the article Shipp offers tips and lesson ideas that help students notice the unexplored beauty of nature.

Shipp, a science teacher at Cary Academy, is a graduate of Miami University through Project Dragonfly's Global Field Program (GFP). As a student in the GFP, Shipp has traveled to Baja, Hawai'i and Kenya, while also conducting projects that have made a difference in the Cary area.

The GFP master's degree and Earth Expeditions courses are designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings interested in making a difference in human and ecological communities. Applicants can be from anywhere in the United States or abroad.
