2015 Mar 20

Middletown, Ohio resident Crystal Prater, a graduate student in the Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly and Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, has been awarded a Community Engagement badge from the university for making a difference in human and ecological communities. As part of the AIP, students like Prater apply the tools of conservation science and advance the tenets central to the master's degree: inquiry, community and voice.

Through her Conservation Science & Community course project entitled "Middletown Recycles," Prater educated the community about conservation and the importance of recycling. Prater is a building and grounds assistant at Miami University.

Project Dragonfly offers the Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) master's degree in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago, Denver, New York, Phoenix, San Diego and Seattle. The community-based AIP degree is co-delivered with Miami's Dragonfly and premier learning institutions accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
