Convoy, Ohio resident Kathleen Overmyer to study in the Amazon

Convoy, Ohio (45832) resident Kathleen Overmyer, a master's student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, will travel to the Amazon in summer 2014 to study avian and tropical ecology.

As a student in the master's program, Overmyer has also traveled to Baja to study field methods in desert and marine ecosystems. Overmyer has traveled to Australia to study the ecology of the Great Barrier Reef. Overmyer is a high school teacher at Van Wert High School.

Since the program began 10 years ago, Earth Expeditions graduate courses from Miami University's Project Dragonfly have engaged more than 1,500 people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas.
