Caroline Ritchey awarded T.K. Wilson & W. Hardy Eshbaugh Scholarship through Miami University's Department of Biology, along with Drs. T.K. Wilson and W. Hardy Eshbaugh

Baxley, Ga., resident Caroline Ritchey has been awarded the T.K. Wilson & W. Hardy Eshbaugh Scholarship in the amount of $500 from Miami University's Department of Biology, along with Drs. T.K. Wilson and W. Hardy Eshbaugh in collaboration with Miami University's Project Dragonfly.

Ritchey, who was accepted into the Global Field Program in 2015, has studied conservation research in Belize. This summer Ritchey will study steppe ecology & civic media in Mongolia. Ritchey is a land management intern at the Nature Conservancy.

Miami University's Department of Biology, along with Drs. T.K. Wilson and W. Hardy Eshbaugh, in collaboration with Miami's Project Dragonfly, has awarded 14 partial scholarships since 2011.

About the Scholarship

Dr. T.K. Wilson, professor emeritus of botany at Miami University, is a leader in Bahamian floral biodiversity studies. Wilson exemplifies a model for what is possible in international scientific research and global partnerships. Dr. Hardy Eshbaugh, professor emeritus of botany at Miami University, is a pioneer in the field of ethnobotany and has worked in many global locations. Having served at Miami University from 1967-1998, Eshbaugh has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of biology.
