Allison Beard fosters community change through collaborative leadership endeavor

Eugene, Ore. (97402) resident Allison Beard, a graduate student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, was awarded a Leadership badge from the university for demonstrating collaborative leadership skills that have helped bring about positive change in her community.

Through her Leadership in Science Inquiry course project entitled "The Difficulties and Benefits of Online Instruction," Beard served as a Student Leader and addressed student evaluation and Lead Instructor feedback in the context of online instruction. Beard is a recreation leader and instructor at The River House.

The GFP master's degree is designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings who are interested in inquiry-driven education, environmental stewardship and global understanding.
