2016 Apr 14

Bowling Green, Ky., resident Abby Harris from Miami University's Project Dragonfly has published an original article titled "Kids Care about Caves!" in Green Teacher.

In the article, Harris described how she partnered with Hidden River Cave employees, the American Cave Conservation Association and high school students to create the first ever Earth Day Festival with cave and museum activities for visitors at the Hidden River Cave Museum. Green Teacher is a quarterly magazine dedicated to helping educators promote environmental awareness.

Harris, an education technician at Mammoth Cave National Park, is a graduate of Miami University through Project Dragonfly's Global Field Program (GFP). As a student in the GFP, Harris traveled to Belize, Australia and Guyana.

The Global Field Program master's degree and Earth Expeditions courses are designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings interested in making a difference in human and ecological communities. Applicants can be from anywhere in the United States or abroad.
